Jean Marc Huss

(French , b. 1958 )

Jean-Marc Huss’s quest of the spiritual world in Asia began in 1983 when he left France to travel through India, Nepal, and Bali, finally settling on the island of Koh Samui in southern Thailand. He was working on a coconut plantation when a monk in a nearby monastery gave him a statue of the Buddha.  The statue became his first model, setting him on an exploration of Buddhism and this ancient tradition’s rich imagery.

The works of Jean-Marc Huss have been shown in Phuket, Hong Kong, London, Toronto, Washington, D.C.  SPUR Projects is the first gallery to exhibit his work in California.
